VP Kamala Harris To Champion Pro-Crypto Initiatives, Policy Adviser Confirms

According to a report from Bloomberg, Brian Nelson, a senior policy advisor to Kamala Harris’ campaign, revealed the vice president’s alleged intention to support the growth of the crypto industry.  Harris’ Alleged Crypto-Friendly Stance Nelson, a senior policy adviser to Harris’ campaign, stated that the vice president “is going to support policies that ensure that emerging technologies and that sort of industry can continue to grow.”  This marks a departure from the Biden administration’s skeptical approach to the crypto space, which has been marked by increased regulatory scrutiny with numerous lawsuits targeting key players and the collapse of numerous high-profile companies. The crypto industry has long advocated for a clearer regulatory environment and new laws to properly regulate ...

2024 US Elections See $119 Million Flood From Crypto Corporations – Report

Cryptocurrency corporations have spent a staggering $119 million campaigning in the political landscape for the 2024 US elections. That is nearly half of all corporate contributions in these elections, which total nearly $250 million. Out in front, companies like Coinbase and Ripple are leading the way, spending at prodigious rates in super PACs looking to push the candidacies of pro-crypto politicians while also undermining skeptics. This spending spree is raising eyebrows and concerns about the influence of money in politics. US Elections: The Rise In Crypto Spending The report from Public Citizen highlights that the crypto sector has become so dominant in corporate political spending that it even overshadows the spending prowess of seasoned heavyweights such as Koch Industries. Since...

New theme park manager Mars Attracts is the oddest bit of IP necromancy I’ve seen in quite some time

I shouldn’t be too surprised really. If a park sim based on Tim Burton’s 1996 B-Movie homage Mars Attacks wasn’t on my bingo card, it’s because I’ve recently binned it and replaced it with a bobble head that simply nods in amused acceptance at whatever videogames decide to do next. And conceptually, Jurassic World Evolution with captive humans instead of dinos isn’t not a potential winner, is it? Still, I was mildly bemused to learn that Mars Attracts, coming sometime next year, is the film’s first licensed game. But then I realised that I’d never thought to check before, which might go some way to explaining the lack of them. Do you reckon they did the pun then worked backwards from there? Respectable, honestly. Read more

I’m rooting for you Squirrel With A Gun, but you still won’t explain yourself

It is perhaps deeply ungrateful of me that, when presented with the squirrel with a gun of Squirrel With A Gun, my immediate reaction is to thrust out my bowl like a ballsy victorian urchin and ask for additional squirrel information. It’s not that developer Dee Dee Creations haven’t shown off the game in action. It’s just that I find myself rooting so hard for this not to just be a vapid bit of meme-ware that I’m getting more concerned as we rapidly approach its 29th August release. Read more

As Helldivers 2 players blast through five million Bile Titans, Arrowhead reiterates that making things fun is “an explicit company target” now

Helldivers 2's latest Major Order, at least in theory, is one of those one people really like. Seriously, there are a bunch of things to kill a big number of, and if that's not enough, one of Arrowhead's community managers has just reiterated that having fun on the menu is "an explicit company target" when it comes to the game. You can't say the studio’s been slacking when it comes to enacting that 60-day plan of changes to help get it outlined following the whole Escalation of Freedom debacle either, having deployed two patches in the last two days. Sure, one was an emergency whipping out of a single fix, but that'll have taken plenty of work. One of the bugs Arrowhead still has on its hit list is one that's seen Bile Titans not taking head damage properly on occasion, and some players reck...

Francis Ford Coppola’s Megalopolis continues streak of bad press as Lionsgate’s latest trailer uses fake critic quotes

Francis Ford Coppola's Megalopolis' road to the big screen has been a bumpy one to say the least, and one has to wonder how many more scandals can befall it before its planned September 27 release date in the United States. The latest drama comes from a bunch of fabricated critic quotes plastered all over the new trailer that Lionsgate has put together.Following a less-than-ideal reception (only 53% of critics on RT gave it a thumbs up) at the Cannes Film Festival 2024, some crew members claimed that Coppola's on-set behavior was unprofessional to say the least. These two snafus alone indicated the self-financed $120 million behemoth, which stars Adam Driver and many other big-name actors, could be facing a lot of trouble when it finally opens (it also struggled to find distribution), but ...

Remember getting it on with Baldur’s Gate 3’s Emperor? Larian says that tentacle stroking animation began as some biscuits being fondled

What's your favoutite kind of biscuit? Rich Tea? Boubons? Custard Creams? Well, it's seems Baldur's Gate 3 developer Larian's staff are partial to Oreos, to the point where a cinematic artist stroking a packet of them was apparently used a reference for the tentacle stroking animation from, er, that scene with you and the Emperor. You know the one. The one where you're just chilling together at first, then they do a thing with your brain that lets you know they're in the mood. Then you get close and their breath smells like garlic, because apparently they share the same taste in food as Peter Kay. Then you get on with either tentacle person or non-tentacle person. Yeah, that one."Since we’re sharing a behind-the-scenes look at how Baldur’s Gate 3 was made," Larian's declared in a tweet that...
